IPv4 addresses by country 2026: registry delegations

How much IPv4 space each country holds, with IPv6 blocks and network numbers, from the official statistics files of the five regional internet registries.

Last updated: · 5 min read

Quick answer

Which country has the most IPv4 addresses?

The United States, with 1,606,309,024 IPv4 addresses delegated by ARIN as of 19 October 2026, about 44% of all delegated IPv4 space. Japan (188,705,088), the United Kingdom (138,720,064) and Germany (126,404,224) follow among the 22 countries on RackProxies, which rents dedicated IPv4 from $1.29 per IP for 30 days; no KYC, crypto.

How much IPv4 does each country hold?

Sorted by delegated IPv4 addresses. "World rank" compares every country and territory code in the five registries.

Why does IPv4 by country matter for proxies?

IPv4 is finite: the 32-bit space holds about 4.3 billion addresses, and the free pools of the regional registries have run out. New networks buy or lease addresses from holders, which is why a datacenter IP is priced per address and per month, while bandwidth is cheap.

The country of an IP in registry data is the country of the organisation that holds it, not always where the address is announced or hosted. A US company can hold addresses that it routes in Frankfurt. Geolocation databases combine registry data with routing data and corrections, so they can disagree with this table for a given IP; see why datacenter IPs geolocate differently.

What stands out in the data?

  • The United States holds most of the space, partly because early allocations in the 1980s and 1990s went to US universities, companies and agencies.
  • IPv6 tells another story. Singapore holds far more IPv6 blocks than its IPv4 rank suggests, because a few large holders registered big IPv6 ranges there.
  • ASN counts follow the number of networks, not their size. Brazil has more ASNs than any country on this list except the United States, reflecting its many regional internet providers.
  • RackProxies sells IPv4 only; IPv6 vs IPv4 proxies explains why.

What do people ask about IPv4 by country?

How many IPv4 addresses exist?

The IPv4 space has 2^32 = 4,294,967,296 addresses. Part of it is reserved (private ranges, multicast, documentation), so fewer can be delegated. On 19 October 2026, the five registries listed 3,687,348,384 addresses as allocated or assigned to holders in a country.

Does "delegated" mean the addresses are used?

No. Delegated means the registry handed the block to an organisation in that country. Some of it is unused, leased to others or announced abroad. Measures of addresses actually seen online come from scans and routing data, not from these files.

Why do datacenter proxies cost money per IP?

Because IPv4 addresses are scarce and leased. A provider pays for each address it announces, so the market prices datacenter proxies per IP and per month. RackProxies charges $1.29 for one IP for 30 days, as of October 2026.

Can I reuse this table?

Yes: quote it with a link to this page and the date. The registries publish their statistics files openly; you can rebuild the table from the links below.
