Datacenter proxies by city: 34 datacenter cities

A datacenter city is where hosting networks meet: carrier hotels, colocation campuses and internet exchanges. Each page lists them, with distances and minimum round-trip times to other hubs.

Quick answer

In which datacenter cities can I get a RackProxies IP?

RackProxies has datacenter proxy pages for 34 datacenter cities in 20 countries, from New York and London (82 colocation facilities each within 40 km in PeeringDB) to Dubai (7). Every city costs the same: $1.29 per IP for 30 days as of October 2026. Availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. No KYC, crypto only.

Which datacenter cities have a page?

Grouped by region; the note gives the country and the number of colocation facilities within 40 km of the city centre. Singapore and Hong Kong are city-states: their country pages cover them.

Which cities have the most datacenters?

On 19 October 2026, PeeringDB listed the most colocation facilities within 40 km of New York and London (82 each), then Paris (76), Ashburn (71), São Paulo (66), Amsterdam (64) and Chicago (62). Counts depend on how operators register their buildings: one Ashburn campus can appear as several entries, and some smaller operators never register.

Connected networks measure something else: how many networks you can reach without a transit carrier. IX.br São Paulo leads our data with 1,869 networks, ahead of DE-CIX Frankfurt (1,019), AMS-IX (856) and LINX LON1 in London (834). The full ranking, with operators and exchanges, is in the datacenter cities table.

Why pick a datacenter city instead of just a country?

Distance sets a floor on latency. Light in fiber covers about 200 km per millisecond, so a round trip from Frankfurt to Singapore, about 10,260 km apart, can never take less than about 103 ms. When your target is hosted in one city, an IP in the same city or the nearest hub keeps response times low.

City choice also matters for content: a site may show different prices or search results in Toronto and Montreal, or in Tokyo and Osaka. Datacenter IPs are registered to hosting networks, not to home internet providers. IP geolocation databases can place the same IP in a different city, or even a different country, from the datacenter that announces it. The city guide shows how to find where a target is hosted.

What do people ask about datacenter cities?

Can I choose any of these cities at checkout?

Choose the country at checkout; a datacenter city can be requested where IPs are online in that city. Availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. If a city has no free IP that day, you can choose another city in the same country; the price is the same everywhere.

Which city has the most datacenters?

In PeeringDB on 19 October 2026, New York and London tied with 82 colocation facilities within 40 km of the city centre, followed by Paris (76) and Ashburn (71). Other directories count differently because they include buildings that are not registered in PeeringDB.

Why is Ashburn on the list?

Ashburn, in Loudoun County, Virginia, is the core of the Northern Virginia datacenter cluster, which hosts many US cloud services. The Equinix Ashburn exchange connected 345 networks in PeeringDB on 19 October 2026. See the Ashburn page.

Will a city IP geolocate to that city?

Usually, but databases differ. Datacenter IPs are registered to hosting networks, not to home internet providers. IP geolocation databases can place the same IP in a different city, or even a different country, from the datacenter that announces it. Check the IP with the database your target uses; the geolocation guide explains why results vary.

How were the facility counts made?

We counted PeeringDB facility records whose coordinates lie within 40 km of each city centre, using the public API on 19 October 2026. Exchanges were matched by the city names PeeringDB uses for them. The method and the full table are on the data page.
