A shared proxy splits one IP between several customers; a dedicated proxy gives it to one. That changes the price, the risk and what you can safely do with the IP. RackProxies sells dedicated datacenter IPv4 only.
Quick answer
What is the difference between dedicated and shared proxies?
In dedicated vs shared proxies, the difference is who else uses the IP: a dedicated proxy serves one customer for the term, a shared proxy serves several at once and costs less. RackProxies sells dedicated datacenter IPv4 only, from $1.29 per IP for 30 days as of October 2026, with no KYC and payment in crypto.
| Dedicated proxy | One customer per IP for the whole term |
|---|---|
| Shared proxy | Several customers use the same IP at the same time |
| RackProxies allocation | Dedicated: during your rental, each IP is assigned to your account only and is not shared with other RackProxies customers |
| RackProxies price | $1.29 for 1 IP, $12.69 for 10, $33.75 for 50, $59.25 for 100 (30 days) |
| Example shared price | Decodo shared pay-per-IP from $0.10/IP, from 100 IPs and 10 GB (19 October 2026) |
| Example dedicated price | Oxylabs dedicated datacenter $2/IP up to 15 IPs (19 October 2026) |
| Traffic at RackProxies | Billed per IP for 30 days, not per GB, under a fair-use policy |
| Payment | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy |
| Criterion | Dedicated proxy | Shared proxy |
|---|---|---|
| Users per IP at the same time | One customer | Several customers of the same seller |
| Price per IP | Higher | Lower: the cost is split between users |
| IP reputation | Shaped by your own traffic during the term (and by the IP's past) | Shaped by every user's traffic, which you do not control |
| Per-IP rate limits on targets | The full allowance is yours | Shared with the other users |
| Safe to put on an allowlist | Yes, for the term | No: every other user of the IP would get the same access |
| Typical billing | Per IP per month or 30 days | Per IP, often with a traffic allowance or a minimum order |
| Example price (19 Oct 2026) | Oxylabs $2/IP up to 15 IPs; Decodo from $2.50/IP | Decodo from $0.10/IP (100 IPs and 10 GB minimum) |

A shared proxy is one IP used by several customers at the same time. The seller splits the cost of the address between them, so each pays less.
You do not see who the other users are or what they send. If one of them overloads a website, that site may slow down or refuse the IP for everyone on it. Some sellers state a fixed number of users per IP (often called semi-dedicated); others do not.
Decodo is one seller that names the type plainly: on 19 October 2026 its datacenter pricing page listed a "Shared" pay-per-IP option from $0.10 per IP, with a minimum of 100 IPs and 10 GB of traffic.
A dedicated proxy is an IP assigned to one customer for a set term. Nobody else uses it at the same time, so the traffic on it during the term is yours.
At RackProxies: Dedicated: during your rental, each IP is assigned to your account only and is not shared with other RackProxies customers. Each rental lasts 30 days from delivery. Renew from your account before the end date; keeping the same IPs after a rental ends is not guaranteed.
Dedicated does not mean new. An IPv4 address has a past, and a previous holder may have used it before your rental. If an IP does not work for your lawful use: If an IP does not work or is unusable for a lawful use, write to support: we fix it or replace it with an IP in the same country, subject to stock.
Shared proxies are cheaper because one IPv4 address is paid for by several customers. IPv4 is scarce and leased, so the address itself is the main cost.
The gap shows on the same seller's page. On 19 October 2026, Oxylabs listed its dedicated datacenter proxies at $2 per IP up to 15 IPs, $1.75 up to 57, $1.45 up to 344 and $1.20 from 2,080 IPs. On the same page, its separate pay-per-IP datacenter option, which is not the dedicated product, started at $1 per IP up to 30 IPs, then $0.90 up to 111, $0.80 up to 625 and $0.60 from 4,170 IPs. Decodo listed dedicated datacenter IPs from $2.50 per IP and shared pay-per-IP from $0.10.
A shared proxy is enough when the job is light, short and not tied to the IP's identity:
A shared proxy is the wrong choice when you need to allowlist the address, when per-IP rate limits matter, or when another user's traffic could harm your job.
You need a dedicated proxy when the IP itself must be trusted, stable or predictable:
The how many proxies guide helps you size the list.
RackProxies sells dedicated IPs only, per IP for 30 days: $1.29 for 1 IP, $12.69 for 10, $33.75 for 50 and $59.25 for 100, as of October 2026. The price per IP never rises with quantity. Shared IPs from other sellers can cost less per IP. We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume. The full dated market table is in the price index.

In every plan: Dedicated IPv4: one customer per IP · 30-day rental, renewable · HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 · Username/password or IP allowlist · Billed per IP, not per GB
Often, but not always. "Private" is a sales word that some sellers also use for IPs shared by a small group. "Dedicated" should mean one customer per IP for the term. Read the seller's wording. The private proxies page compares the labels.
Yes. A website can refuse any IP, dedicated or not, and an IPv4 address may carry history from a previous holder. A dedicated IP removes the risk from other current users, not every risk. If an IP does not work or is unusable for a lawful use, write to support: we fix it or replace it with an IP in the same country, subject to stock.
A semi-dedicated proxy is an IP shared by a small fixed number of customers. It costs less than a dedicated IP and more than an open shared pool. Ask the seller how many users share each IP; if the page does not say, treat it as shared.
You should not. Every other user of a shared IP would pass the same allowlist. Use a dedicated IP for allowlists and firewall rules. RackProxies IPs are dedicated during the rental; Each rental lasts 30 days from delivery. Renew from your account before the end date; keeping the same IPs after a rental ends is not guaranteed.
No. Dedicated datacenter IPv4 proxies, billed per IP for a 30-day rental, not per GB. Dedicated: during your rental, each IP is assigned to your account only and is not shared with other RackProxies customers. The smallest plan is 1 IP for $1.29, so you can test one dedicated IP before you buy more.
