## What is an IPv4 proxy?

An IPv4 proxy is a server with an IPv4 address that forwards your requests, so the website sees the proxy's address instead of yours. An IPv4 address is a 32-bit number, written as four numbers from 0 to 255, such as `203.0.113.24`.

The whole IPv4 space holds 4,294,967,296 addresses (2 to the power of 32). Large blocks of it are reserved for private networks, multicast and documentation, so fewer are usable on the public internet.

"IPv4 proxy" only names the address family. It says nothing about who holds the address. A RackProxies IPv4 proxy is a datacenter address: it belongs to a hosting network (an ASN), and IP databases label it "hosting". We lease datacenter IPv4 addresses from established upstream hosting and network partners. These IPs are registered to hosting networks (ASNs), not to home internet providers, and no residential or mobile device is involved. The [datacenter proxy guide](https://rackproxies.com/guides/what-is-a-datacenter-proxy/) explains the routing step by step.

## Why are IPv4 addresses scarce and leased?

IPv4 is scarce because the free pools ran out. IANA handed its last free IPv4 blocks to the five regional internet registries in February 2011. The registries then ran out one after another: ARIN (North America) in September 2015 and RIPE NCC (Europe and the Middle East) in November 2019, for example.

Since then, a network that needs more IPv4 must buy or lease it from another holder. That is why IPv4 proxies are rented, not sold outright. You rent the use of an address for a term, and the address stays registered to the network that holds it. RackProxies rents per IP for 30 days. Each rental lasts 30 days from delivery. Renew from your account before the end date; keeping the same IPs after a rental ends is not guaranteed.

Who holds the addresses today? On 19 October 2026, the registry files delegated 1,606,309,024 IPv4 addresses to the United States, far ahead of Japan (188,705,088), the United Kingdom (138,720,064) and Germany (126,404,224). The [IPv4 addresses by country table](https://rackproxies.com/data/ipv4-addresses-by-country-2026/) has the full ranking.

## Should I buy IPv4 or IPv6 proxies?

Buy IPv4 proxies when your targets must be reachable from any IP: almost every public website accepts IPv4 connections, while many still have no IPv6 address. A site without an IPv6 address (no AAAA record in DNS) cannot be opened through an IPv6-only proxy.

IPv6 is the newer, 128-bit address family. Its addresses are plentiful, so IPv6 proxies cost little per IP. On 19 October 2026, Proxy-Seller listed IPv6 "from $0.02/IP" and IPv4 "from $0.49/IP", with no term shown on the page we checked. Rayobyte listed US IPv6 at $0.20 per IP.

IPv4 only. IPv6 proxies are not sold yet. The [IPv6 vs IPv4 guide](https://rackproxies.com/guides/ipv6-vs-ipv4-proxies/) compares both families in detail.

## How do I get a US IPv4 proxy?

Choose the United States at checkout and, if you need one, request a datacenter city. Availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. The [United States page](https://rackproxies.com/datacenter-proxies/united-states/) lists the US datacenter cities with a page, such as [Ashburn](https://rackproxies.com/datacenter-proxies/united-states/ashburn/), [New York](https://rackproxies.com/datacenter-proxies/united-states/new-york/), [Dallas](https://rackproxies.com/datacenter-proxies/united-states/dallas/) and [Los Angeles](https://rackproxies.com/datacenter-proxies/united-states/los-angeles/).

Pick the city closest to the servers you reach. On 19 October 2026, PeeringDB listed 71 colocation facilities within 40 km of Ashburn and 82 around New York. Distance sets a floor on latency: light in fiber covers about 200 km per millisecond, so the minimum round trip in ms is the distance in km divided by 100.

Datacenter IPs are registered to hosting networks, not to home internet providers. IP geolocation databases can place the same IP in a different city, or even a different country, from the datacenter that announces it. Check each IP with the [datacenter IP check](https://rackproxies.com/guides/check-a-datacenter-ip/) before a long job.

## How much do IPv4 proxies cost?

RackProxies charges one price per IPv4 address for 30 days, whatever the country or city. As of October 2026: $1.29 for 1 IP, $12.69 for 10, $33.75 for 50 and $59.25 for 100 ($0.59/IP). The price per IP never rises with quantity.

Other sellers, checked on 19 October 2026: MarsProxies sold 5 datacenter IPs for $8.96 for 30 days, and GhostConnect charged $1.79 per IP for 31 days. FloppyData sold 100 static datacenter IPs for $79 a month. The [datacenter proxy price index](https://rackproxies.com/data/datacenter-proxy-price-index-2026/) has the full dated table. We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume.

### Which IPv4 plan do you need?

| Plan | Quantity | Price | Price per unit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 datacenter IP | 1 IP | $1.29 | $1.29/IP · 30 days |
| 10 datacenter IPs | 10 IPs | $12.69 | $1.27/IP · 30 days |
| 50 datacenter IPs | 50 IPs | $33.75 | $0.68/IP · 30 days |
| 100 datacenter IPs | 100 IPs | $59.25 | $0.59/IP · 30 days |

In every plan: Dedicated IPv4: one customer per IP · 30-day rental, renewable · HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 · Username/password or IP allowlist · Billed per IP, not per GB

**Before you pay**

- You top up the price of your plan. The checkout asks for the plan price (less your balance), at least $25; anything left stays on your balance.
- Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.
- Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain. Typical network confirmation time: BTC ≈ 20 min · USDT TRC-20 ≈ 1 min · USDT ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · USDC ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · ETH ≈ 5 min · SOL ≈ 1 min · LTC ≈ 15 min

## How do I use an IPv4 proxy?

Each IP is delivered as a line `IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD` in your account, exportable as TXT or CSV. Paste a line into your HTTP client, crawler or browser profile, or use the IP and port with HTTP, HTTPS (CONNECT) and SOCKS5. Authentication: Username and password, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs).

The example below uses a documentation address. Your real IPs, ports and credentials appear in your account. The [quickstart](https://rackproxies.com/docs/quickstart/) and the [connection format page](https://rackproxies.com/docs/connection-format/) cover Python and Node.js too.

*Check the exit IP of one IPv4 proxy*

```bash
curl -x http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@203.0.113.24:8000 https://api.ipify.org
```

## What are IPv4 datacenter proxies used for?

Fixed IPv4 addresses suit jobs where a known, stable exit matters more than looking like a home user:

- [Price and stock monitoring](https://rackproxies.com/use-cases/price-monitoring/) of public product pages from a chosen country.
- [SEO rank tracking](https://rackproxies.com/use-cases/seo-rank-tracking/) of public search results in several markets.
- [Allowlisted access](https://rackproxies.com/use-cases/allowlisted-api-access/) to partner APIs and firewalls that accept only known IPv4 addresses.
- [Geo QA](https://rackproxies.com/use-cases/geo-qa-testing/) of your own website or app by country.

Blocked on every IP: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. The [acceptable use policy](https://rackproxies.com/acceptable-use/) lists the rules.

## What do buyers ask about IPv4 proxies?

### What does IPv4 proxy mean?

An IPv4 proxy is a proxy whose exit address is an IPv4 address, the 32-bit format such as 203.0.113.24. The website you open sees that address instead of yours. RackProxies IPv4 proxies are datacenter addresses held by hosting networks, rented to one customer for 30 days and paid in crypto.

### Are your IPv4 proxies shared with other users?

No. Dedicated: during your rental, each IP is assigned to your account only and is not shared with other RackProxies customers. A dedicated IPv4 address still has a history: it may have been used by another customer before your rental. The [dedicated vs shared comparison](https://rackproxies.com/dedicated-vs-shared-proxies/) explains the difference in price and risk.

### Can I buy a single IPv4 proxy?

Yes. The smallest plan is 1 IP for $1.29. Each top-up is at least $25. No free trial: test with the 1-IP plan; when it costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, if unspent.

### Do you sell IPv6 proxies?

IPv4 only. IPv6 proxies are not sold yet. IPv6 addresses cost much less per IP, but a site with no IPv6 address cannot be reached through an IPv6-only proxy. If your targets are mixed or unknown, IPv4 is the safe choice. See the [IPv6 vs IPv4 guide](https://rackproxies.com/guides/ipv6-vs-ipv4-proxies/).

### Will my IPv4 proxy show the country I picked?

Usually, but not always. Datacenter IPs are registered to hosting networks, not to home internet providers. IP geolocation databases can place the same IP in a different city, or even a different country, from the datacenter that announces it. Check each IP with the database your target uses. If an IP does not work or is unusable for a lawful use, write to support: we fix it or replace it with an IP in the same country, subject to stock.

### Can I keep the same IPv4 addresses after 30 days?

Each rental lasts 30 days from delivery. Renew from your account before the end date; keeping the same IPs after a rental ends is not guaranteed. Renewing before the end date is the way to ask for the same list. Plan for a new list if your allowlists or configs depend on fixed addresses.

### Do I need ID to buy IPv4 proxies?

No. No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy. Account-number login; email is optional. You pay in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, and the plan is bought from your balance once the top-up is credited. The [no-KYC page](https://rackproxies.com/no-kyc/) explains what we still keep and why.

**Rent your first IPv4 proxy** 1 IP for $1.29, or 10 IPs for $12.69. No KYC: pay in crypto. [See pricing](https://rackproxies.com/pricing/) · [All countries](https://rackproxies.com/countries/)
